Today we celebrated our first Christmas with Kai. He totally loved it. He kept doing the sign for more each time he opened a gift. He doesn’t get it but loves the fact he now has new toys. We also went to Waffle House this morning as part of our new tradition. Enjoy the pictures and video. We are off to Ohio on Sunday.
Today Kai and his Mama made Christmas cookies. As you can see Kai really enjoyed helping make the cookies. April and I are so excited to share our first Christmas with Kai. He of course has no idea what it going on. This coming Sunday we will be flying to Ohio so Kai can spend some time with family. Let’s hope this flight goes way better than the one where we brought Kai home. My goal is to take Kai sledding and play in the snow. I will try and teach him how to write his name in the snow. Just kidding!!! I will teach him one very important thing and that is DON’T eat yellow snow. Merry Christmas. Love Brett, April, Kai, and Brownie Da Pug
On December 5 we went before a judge to make Kai’s adoption official. I have one picture right now of us with Judge Batchelor. Kai was really good during the process. We had to then walk around the building to get some forms to fill out and lots of people kept saying how cute Kai was. Each time I made Kai say thank you and he did. Well it sounds more like Tank You.
Since that day Kai has gotten sick again with a very bad sinus infection. Two trips to the doctor for stronger meds and I think he is finally on the road to recovery. This past Saturday we went to a Birthday party for Isaac. As you can tell Kai had way too much to drink and he passed out on the floor. Just kidding. Guess that is it for now. Sorry for not posting more. We have all been sick multiple times and I was in Florida last week. BF
Since the last update we have done a couple fun things with Kai. He went bowling for the first time. He was very overwhelmed with all the noise and lights there but still had fun pushing the ball down the ramp. Gram and Papa came down during the week of Thanksgiving. Kai was really great the entire week they were here. Kai’s favorite thing to say to Papa is UP or as he says it UT. On Thanksgiving Day we started putting up our Christmas tree. Kai was fascinated with the lights and the ornaments. We have had to tell him No touch since he wants to take everything off including the lights. The tree has almost come down once too. In one of the pictures you can see Kai getting his first bite of Cool Whip. He didn’t really like it. That is just wrong!!! How can you not like Cool Whip????? I could eat the tub by myself. I can promise you we will work on that. Kai doesn’t seem to like sweet stuff much. When we take him to Waffle House he will eat a Waffle plain with no syrup. Again that is just wrong!!! I will fix that for sure. The remaining pictures are of Kai wearing my Indians hat, playing in the refrigerator, and hiding behind the shower curtain in his bathroom. Brett
