We didn’t do much this weekend. On Saturday the highlight was going to Old Navy to get some jeans for me and some stuff for Kai. He was really happy in the AM and at Old Navy. Not so much the rest of the day. Not a whole lot of fun for most of Saturday. A couple trips to time out and he finally got out of his bad mood for the rest of the evening. The bad lasted about 3-4 hours but who was counting. Sunday was a nightmare. He did good in church and that is basically it till 6pm. We went out to Geoff and Cynthia Paul’s house for lunch and Geoff and I played the Legends Golf Course. What an awesome course. Hey Dad, I did break 90. For as little as I play now I was pretty happy. I played with the new Nike irons that are not available yet to the public. Super secret stuff!! Back to Kai, he cried/screamed the entire way from church to the Paul’s house. We were in seperate cars so April told me that it was as bad as when we brought him home on the airplane. Yikes!!!! He settled down to eat and then when he was put back in his car seat it started again. He didn’t sleep at their house either. On the way home guess what happened. You got it, more screaming. I got home at 6 from golfing with my Mentor(Geoff) and Kai had finally broke out of his mood. My guess is the shots he had on Friday were not sitting too well with him.
We are in the process of doing the re adoption here in the US so we can get Kai’s Social Security Number set up. We found out yesterday we are missing some key documents and we will need to get some finger prints done. This will cost another couple hundred dollars. Don’t you love how the government is making so much money off bringing Kai home? If they would make adoption easier we probably could erase the deficit.
Took a couple pictures of Kai this weekend around the house.
On Saturday we took Kai to a pumpkin patch right up the road from the house. Last weekend when he went to the farm he didn’t get a pumpkin. I wanted to share that with my son so his mama waited until I could be there with him. Like the smart people we are, we left the cameras on the table when we went to pick out the pumpkin. Sorry about that. I was really excited to see what Kai’s reaction would be to the goo inside the pumpkin. At first he wasn’t so sure about it but after awhile he thought it was pretty cool. I know this because he started flinging it everywhere. As you can tell by the pictures and the video Brownie was never far from the action. We had given her a bath before the pumpkin carving. Bad idea since Kai decided to touch Brownie with his hands covered in pumpkin. On the illness front Kai seemed to be feeling much better this weekend. Today (Sunday) he was happy all day long. A few summers ago I bought a boogie board for the beach. What I didn’t realize at the time was I am no good at it. It has been sitting in the closet ever since. We brought it out for Kai to play with and he loved it. He pulled it everywhere in the house. I got the great idea to put him on it and pull him around. You can hear him laughing as we did it. We had a great weekend. Now let’s just hope he sleeps especially since it is my night to get up with him if he doesn’t. Enjoy the pictures and video. Brett
This past weekend Gram and Papa came in from Ohio to help April out with Kai while I was in Oklahoma. Good thing they did too. Kai suffered through his first illness. Turns out he just had a cold but you would have thought based on how he acted he was dying. To say he didn’t handle it well is an understatement. It got so bad that April called me in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 2am saying they were thining of taking him to the emergency room. He went to bed at 4 AM. Before he got bad I think Gram and Papa had a good time with Kai. This was the first time Papa has seen Kai since we got home with him back in July. A lot has changed with him. Saturday, they took Kai to Washington Farms near our house to see the pumpkins, take a hay ride and watch the pig races. Based on what April told me Kai was really good and had a great time. I was really glad to see Kai when I got back on Sunday.
On a seperate note, I was on a flight to Tulsa, Oklahoma with Webster(Imanueal Lewis). It was so funny to see him now. Do you remember the TV show from the 80’s. His face still looks the same and he has the same laugh he did on the show. No, I didn’t get his autograph. I didn’t want to bother him. That’s it from here. BF
On Saturday Kai and his mama went to Frog Hollow at GACS. For those of you that don’t know what that is, it is a fall festival where they have games and other fun stuff to do. Great description don’t you think? I had a Demo Day to do for Nike Golf at TPC SugarLoaf. When I got home Kai was being really silly. He tried on his Browns hat that his Uncle Scott got for him. He looks really cut in a baseball hat. Sunday afternoon was really rough for us. Kai is getting around 3 teeth right now so yesterday afternoon he wasn’t in to good of a mood. Kai is doing a lot of funny stuff now. Recently he has learned how to march and blow kisses. He has also been eating a lot of different foods now too. We have given him some pieces of ham and pizza to name a few things. This week I have to go to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a few days. Gram and Papa are coming down from Ohio to see Kai and help April out while I am gone.
